When we first launched our Construction SEO Report in early 2025, we benchmarked every website on the ENRTop 400 Contractors list (2024 edition). Just a few months later, we recalculated the numbers for the 2025 list.
What changed?
- List turnover:Approximately 9% of firms on the 2025 listwere new, providing us with a fresh set of websites to evaluate.
- Backlinks increase significantly: The median number of backlinks grew from just over 1,000 to more than 1,700, a strong signal that contractors are investing more in their digital presence.
- Domain authority flatlined:The average DA dipped slightly from 33 to 32.
- Speed stayed steady:Desktop and mobile performance barely budged, with contractors holding at mid-70s for desktop and mid-50s for mobile.
- Spam scores crept higher:The average moved from 6 to 7, but the median spam score stayed at 2.
